Roadway Diet/ Complete Streets
Casselton Drive from SR 436 (Semoran Boulevard) to Greencastle Boulevard
Client: City of Casselberry
Location: Seminole County
Casselton Drive, a 0.5-mile road diet project is located near the southern end of Casselberry parallel to SR 436. Originally only a two-lane road, the pavement was about 50 feet wide, and lacked complete sidewalks. The project narrowed the road by more than half, freeing up space for an 8-foot meandering shared use path on the west and a sidewalk added on the east side. Modifications included resurfacing of existing pavement to remain, storm drain collection system replacement, reconstructing curb and gutter,on-street parking, signing, pavement marking, water main replacement and landscaping. This project was designed using AutoCAD Civil3D; very flat terrain required special roadway and gutter profiles to ensure positive drainage
