The Latest Trending Economic News Curated for You by Balmoral Group Australia

Good morning dear readers,

This week we're interested in technical developments for regulation, strategic frameworks and technology. Space-age advances in digital modelling of Australia's landscape will support agriculture decision-making, while placement programs with Laos will help shape the country's energy systems and build international relations in research institutions. Progress in government strategy includes the movement towards implementation of recent environmental reforms, such as establishment of the National Environmental Protection Agency, and newly released plans for increasing the energy efficiency of Australia's domestic and industrial appliances. I have also attached a map portraying the coverage of NBN technology, reflecting increasing infrastructural constraints for regional communities.

Supporting the next generation of Lao engineers with low-emission emerging technologies

CSIRO is working with researchers from Laos to help develop the country's practical hydrogen assessment capability. The program, titled the Laos-Australia Sustainable Energy Partnership (LASEP), gives Laotian engineers expertise in hydrogen and ammonia modelling, aiming to tighten AUS-Laos scientific institutions and help shape their energy system. National NBN distribution

The map below from the Government digital connectivity indicators website shows the share of premises with NBN fixed line or fixed wireless across SA2 areas. Percentage reflects share of homes with fixed line, which provides faster, more stable usage compared with wireless towers. The map demonstrates the greater flexibility required in regional areas, as well as higher installation costs for in-ground assets.
